We suggest that cyberspace is one place that we can use to build and sustain friendships; that it is a place where people can respond as neighbours; and that it can encourage articulation to support and strengthen each others' faith. Aspects of cyberspace certainly reflect the call to respond to the God who spoke and created the world and to Jesus who is the Word.
On the other hand there are limitations to what cyberspace can do. Our existence as physical beings is an important attribute of humanness and not one that Christians believe should or can be ignored. In this sense we share a special relationship with those who live in the same physical space as ourselves, and with the same concerns over what is happening in it. In this sense the Incarnation of Jesus as a fully human being reflects a necessity to attend to those immediately in our physical vicinity, through neighbouring, community and fellowship.
